Hello everyone,

I hope I am posting this in the right forum. I had an hesitation but I think that since I'm asking for advice, this one would be better than the tips and techniques one. I ran a search first and found nothing about my problem on the boards, so here's a little summary of my newest SEO issue...

See, I have this client who asked me to work on their site. I did like I always do, added my tags, worked on the content, and the site is ready for at least a bit of ranking. Not one single backdoor page is in there, in case you're wondering (see what comes up next)

But the fact is, despite the fact that Google, among others, is spidering it and has all the pages in its database (I checked with the "site:" query), there is not one single keyword, except the company name (which is also the domain name) that ranks in the first 50 and even 100 results. This has NEVER happened to me in the past. I submitted in many engines and none of them will display results.

Also, we made a paid submission to Yahoo(.fr), the site has been listed there but doesn't show at ALL in Yahoo's engine. Really i don't get it.
I was wondering about the past of the domain name, maybe it's blacklisted for a reason or another, because that's the only solution I can see for now, and before I bother someone here to check the site for me, I would really like to see if I can do something on my own and bother no one. Hence my post : does anybody know how I can find out if a site has been blacklisted on an engine or something? (emails, websites, anything?)

Another weird thing, I checked the "waybackmachine", and it's the only site, among all my clients, that does not appear in the database at ALL. Honestly, I'm completely puzzled. If you guys have seen Amélie Poulain, well I'm like her father right now "I. do. not. understand". :lmao:

Oh and I asked my client the history of their domain name and I got the classic "ermm... I have no clue" answer...

Thanks in advance to all of you for taking the time to read, I'm crossing fingers so that maybe someone can help out. :)

Mels.
