i have been all over this forum and i have seen people talk about PR1 through 6. now, i think that means page rank and the higher the number the better, is that right? how do you find out what your PR is?

Welcome, Mike

The easiest way is to install the Google toolbar, but you have to be running IE on Windows to do that. There are a few online tools as well. I don't have any bookmarked though, so maybe someone can post their URLs for you.

But it's important to remember that PR only matters a bit. It's just one of many factors that are used to rank a page. People obsess over it mostly because it's so easy to see -- install the toolbar, go to a page, and you see an estimate of its PR.

Welcome Mike!

We've had tons of discussions here about PageRank. If you do a search in the forum search facility, you should find enough info to keep you busy for quite awhile!

Have fun!
