Realtor's a trademark? Is it a made-up word or something? I never really knew what it meant. News to me! Well, now I'll be more on the look out for it! :lmao:

Oh, yes, you had better believe it. In Realtor classes they hammer it into you and most agencies are very stringent in keeping tabs on how it is used. However, there are many smaller agencies that do not monitor what their agents do, or their agent's advertising, so it can be heavily abused.

What's funny is that it tends to be abused by the Realtors themselves, rather than the general public.

Most of the time it's an over zealous webmaster or marketer who just didn't stop to think.

My own experience says that calling up the responsible person and asking him/her to remove whatever offends you, often does the trick. Like HorseCove says it's most often someone who forgot to think. That person will be easily persuaded if you have the right arguments.

Added Bonus: You keep the lawyers fee and use it to improve your site ;-)

Of course, if the situation for some reason escalates, then throw the book at them, but that should be a last resort.
