There's a company called SEO-PR that works in conjunction with PRWEB to optimize press releases. I don't know if just anyone can submit an optimized release to PRWEB, or if you have to use SEO-PR's service. Anyone else know?

Anyone can submit a release through PRWEB whether it's a regular release or one that's been keyword optimized. SEO PR partnered with PRWEB to assist those who are not familiar with press release writing.

There are many advantages to submitting keyword optimized releases via sites like PRWEB. Short term, you get high visibility on sites like Google News and Yahoo News, and long term your release url gets picked up in regular search engine results with links back to the client web site for nominal link popularity.

When using PrWeb,
Its a good idea to contribute $$ amount for your release in the amount of min $30.00. Sites, I've seen do very well have had a proffessional write the release and then an SEO submitt the PR to PRweb. You may want to consider a top 3 visability for your release date these do very well on all pages as well as the SE News sites. This of course costs more but the rewards are up to 20,000 views on the release date for your PR..
Enjoy;

I agree with Woodduck's comment about contributing to prweb.

In fact, for $80 your release is also included in the Yahoo FeatureExpress program where the full release is published under the Yahoo.com domain.

For B2B client releases that are keyword optimized, you can expect 20,000 - 60,000 page views in the first two weeks. For B2C clients it's higher, as much as 190,000. By itself that does not mean much, but it does drive measurable traffic to the site and can provide a significant amount of exposure in a short amount of time.

Anyone can submit ti PRWEB- I have several press releases out there from more than a year ago that still pop up in the backlinks, which never hurts.

Greg Jarboe runs SEO-PR and is a speaker at the SES conferences- he really knows his stuff. I've seen presentation on mixing regular SEO with PPC twice because it was worth hearing more than once. ;)

Add www.prleap.com to the list - membership and news distribution is free. PR Leap distribution reaches Google News, Moreover, Yahoo! Search, MSN Newsbot, MSN, Ask Jeeves / Teoma and leading RSS search engines.

You can track page views for each press release and even see when search engine crawlers visit your press release (RSS search engines do not show as they only visit RSS feeds).

There are already hundreds of companies using PR Leap, give us a try.

P.S.

* Last week Fringe Promotions distributed a press release through PR Leap about Asobi Seksu's record release. The day it was released, Gawker picked up the news and the press release was viewed by thousands of interested visitors coming from Gawker.

* In March Anadys Pharmaceutical released their IPO press release on PR Leap, and through Business Wire. The press release distributed through PR Leap shows up in the top 30 search results for Anadys on Google, and the same release distributed through Business Wire is no where to be found.

Just came accross another one...

24-7PressRelease.com

They don't have alot of tracking, but I have heard from another friend of mine that uses them that they have noticed slight increases from them when it hits Google.

Appear new, but i'll give them a chance for the price.

I did a press release yesterday on PRweb.com. somehow I ended up on another site that looked similar to PRWEB and had similar offerrings, but a different price structure. It was called PRWEBDIRECT.com

The site looked so similar to prweb, I almost did a press release until it failed with my login information. The 80 dollar prweb service was 119 and I thought they had raised their rates!

I didn't post a release on prwebdirect.com, so I cannot comment on how well they work. They didn't seem to have a free option, and I have a limited budget.

I'll check out some of the other sites listed here. sounds like a great resourse.

One thing I noticed about PRWEB is they are now hiding user email addresses. In the past the spam has been a nightmare. I used a seperate email address and it was buried in spam within days of the release. Hopefully this won't happen again.

Prweb.com and PRwebdirect.com are two branches of the same service. They both use that same "star" system to rank the press release (the more you pay, the higher your release is ranked) and it's the same control panel when you sign in to manage your press releases (I've done a PRweb and a PRWebdirect release. Both show up on my same account screen).

Definitely confusing the way they have it set up. When I did the first release, I got confused about that, too. wacko.gif

This thread has some discussion about the differences between the two (on second and third pages, I think).

Bobette,
I did find that thread in a later search fro information. I did releases on all the companies listed under this thread yesterday. Or rather I tried to do a release on them all. One site is a russian site (intherpress.ru) and not relevant.

PR leap would not allow me to sign in after I had registered. I managed to log in by switching from firefox to IE. They never asked for money, and I didn't pay them anything. Two step registration/email confirmation was a hassle, but managable.

24-7pressrelease was an easy to use site, but I couldn't get the credit card to go through. So I did a free release instead, and started an email exchange with the company to allow me access to the paid options in the future.

free-press-release.com was really easy and quick.

e-xl.com I have no idea if this worked. I submitted the press release and the submit page refreshed without my data. No confirmation. Does not screen email addresses. A few of them do not hide email addresses from spam bots, so I will surely be seeing an increase in spam.

pressbox.co.uk British site. took submission and will confirm placement by email.

press-world.com/add does not hide email adresses. Uses redirects for outbound links; seems to be a week behind in posting releases. Wants 9.95 for login. I passed. Site looks amaturish and is covered with fourth party ads.

prbot.com . Hides email addresses and direct links to sites. very slow website even on my DSL connection the pages took 30 seconds to minutes to load. Lots of "negative" language in their terms and guidelines. Reads as if it is run by a Nazi English teacher. Requires release to mention them in summary feild ike this: Mesa, AZ, (PRBot.Com) Summary. Couldn't get registered. Gave up

I didn't take notes about PRWEB because I have been using them for years.

A few of these sites have different max feild lengths. My "summary" was too long for two sites. I ended up changing it a bit to make it better.
Also some of them had weird category structures. I had a hard time deciding what category to put my release in. 24-7 said I could select additional categories after I paid, but I never got to pay so I don't know how many additional choices I would have been offered.

I have been watching the Google News Alerts for months now. The whole thing of optimizing for search engines seems to be overhyped. It only takes one use of a keyword to get listed in the Google results. This means including as many keywords and variations within the release should be enough to get it to appear. For any of us that are used to writing for humans while sprinkling in keywords shouldn't have a problem with it.

I should see some results from this campaign this week.

Terry

I did get the 24-7 site to take my money. The bank had the wrong zip code on the credit card. But the site doesn't allow logins with the FireFOX browser.

Thanks for the info, Terry!

Did you know that there's a firefox extension that allows you to change the user agent to IE, you may want to install that for the future for any site that doesn't allow you to login with Firefox.

I tried the PRWEB news release today and would like to send the link out to our existing customers. Does anyone know how long the link is valid for?

Jill,
I have the user agent switcher on Firefox, but didn't think of using it. Next time I will try it.

Jeff - press releases on PRWEB last a long time. I don't know how long, but one I did in May of 2003 was still there a few months ago.
