Hi All,

I have to convince a client that having his site hosted out back, in a guys shed is not ideal (deadly serious here)

Can anyone post any free instant server checks, the more the merrier so I can email the evidence :lol:

There's the Netcraft thingie, but once you enter a URL in there it'll send its spider out every now and then to check uptime, and you may not want that.

You can also get a free trial of Alertra (which I think used to be free all the time).

EasyMonitor.com is another freebie. It just checks http responses, but that's the most important thing to most folks.

It sends an email anytime the site is unreachable, then another when it comes back up again.
