As discussed before in this magnificent forum, the link popularity plays a roll in the page ranking and thus in how high my sites gets listed in the search results. But is link popularity related to the domain or to individual pages?
Example:
I find out – by using LinkSurvey or another tool – that 100 sites are linking to my site, and that 90 of those links are to the root (www.myhomepage.dk) and another 10 is to a page in a subfolder (www.myhomepage.dk/subcategory/page.html). Will www.myhomepage.dk/subcategory/page.html then have a link popularity of 100 or of 10? In other words: Is link popularity a common – and equal – value for whatever content under a given domain, or does it relate to individual pages?

There may be search engines out there that count things differently, but at least on Google it's about an individual page (or to be more precise, it's about a single URL).

I think link populary is not equal for the whole site - each page has its individual link popularity, PageRank and other characteristics. That's the sense of Google ranking - it ranks each page not sites.

As far as PageRank and Google are concerned, the link pop passes through the site, so having link pop for each page is good.
I would imagine the other engines work similarly.
