Hi everyone
I have just noticed that when I go to my domain, I have a PR5. However, all my sub pages link back to default.htm (my index page) and that only has a PR of 4. How can that be? Surely by just typing in my domain is the same as going to www.mydomain.com/default.htm?? I am assuming that this in turn would reduced the PR on my sub pages if default is only a PR4.
Anyone know any ways round this? Ie, should I change the link on each sub page to point to www.mydomain.com rather than default.htm?
Thanks
Lee

I do try to only link to the domain, rather than the default.htm page. It doesn't seem to make a difference inside the site, but it does on the domain. It also matters if you put the www in front or not.
For a while there I thought Google had fixed this, but I discovered that they hadn't.

Why do you need a way around it? That's the nature of PR, and it's not a problem. Don't worry about it.

Hi bubble,
like Jill said it isn't exactly critical...Ron Carnell is of the opinion that you should guard this information...
we had a discussion about your question before, it should answer your questions.
