I just found out that command is www.yoursite.com -site:www.yoursite.com

I've been looking for this myself, but this doesn't seam to work for me - using this:

link:http://www.crosstrainer.ca

I get 106 pages, of which 22 are from the same domain. When I use this:

link:http://www.crosstrainer.ca -site:www.crosstrainer.ca

I get just one page in the results - Any ideas what's up here?

Thanks,
Simon

That's why you should use this:

www.yoursite.com -site:www.yoursite.com

I think you may be mixing and matching different advanced Google commands Simon.

link:www.domain.com - The old links command everybody uses that isn't very accurate.

www.domain.com -site:www.domain.com - searches for every instance Google knows about where the term "www.domain.com" appears, and excludes your own site.

www.domain.com site:www.domain.com - searches for every page on your site where the term "www.domain.com" appears.

What you mentioned, link:http://www.domain.com -site:www.domain.com I assume shows every instance where the term "link:http://www.domain.com" appears that is not on your site.

Thankyou very much for all those links - I've been building up my own page for my own use with them all on, that's made it all so much easier for me and more professional too.

It would help if you use the syntax -

yoursite.com -site:www.yoursite.com

Skipping 'www' from the first part helps you capture links where the sites have linked to your site without using the 'www'. You'll notice that this gives you far more results.

link:www.yoursite.com will generally show links from PR4+ pages including links from your own site.

For a painless search, you may use the search box at -
