First, it is one of the few forums that offers such excellent advice, and I know I can learn so much just by reading the threads and occasionally asking a question (as I did earlier today!) And I happily give back to the community whenever I can.
That being said, there are a few other forums that also house some pretty smart and helpful people, but still I return hear at least 10 times as often as to any other forum.
One very smart "customer relations" strategy: I can subscribe to have new topics delivered to my inbox. When I have the time, which is not always the case, I pop in to read the posting. The other forums I like, don't seem to do this. in a number of cases, they allow you to subscribe, but bo message is sent to your in-basket to notify you of the new post.
So, kudos for setting this up this way.
Is there something I would improve? Yes, one thing. I believe that hose who post often deserve the benefit of the PR from their sig lines. I think it should be spiderable. It is a measure of how much I value this forum that I am an active participant despite not getting the link credit I would posting elsewhere.

The www-image link in every post is spiderable. And your signature is crawled by the Yahoo bot- check in Yahoo. We aren't sure why Google skips it; I might look into it out of curiosity but spiderable text links tend to attract toads. I think the way it works now is a good way to be.

Now if we can just find a way to make it so Yahoo doesn't spider the links.
I'd much rather have people who post here because they just like to. Why does anyone need a 'link reward'?

My opinion on this is all about how someone spends the very little time we don't have during the day, and to maximize the benefit of that time spent. This is just my opinion, and I can be a very opinionated person.
I was not aware of the www-image button, Scottie. I just never looked at it. It does make me feel better, though.

You can tell the link junkies on any forum, they come in, have loads of text links in their sig, don't bother with their profile, and post about 40 posts in a day or so, then move on to the next IP block, Oops I mean next forum
