It is obvious that tweets with images get more attention.
Plus, they are added to your profile sidebar. It is worth using them in your tweets. I know that.
But I was thinking about moderation.
Do you think it is recommended to have more than 50% of tweets sent with images?

According to whom?

You should do whatever is appropriate for your message and target audience.

Chris, that is true, at least according to the people who provide services that help create images to include in tweets. ;)

I have published a lot of tweets with images and far more tweets without images.  It really depends on what the image conveys.  I would not go out of my way to use images in tweets.  The case studies that "prove" images make tweets more popular are all flawed.

If you have an interesting and helpful image, or funny or shocking image, share it.  Otherwise, just tweet.

When you add meta data to a page in order to set up defaults for socal sharing (twitter cards, open graph, schema, etc), I'd say it's a good idea to include the URL of an image.

The other consideration for including images in tweets is that you only have a limited number of characters to get your message across, and including an image uses up a bunch of those. You have to decide whether the image conveys enough of your message to make up for the text "space" you're going to lose.

Can't really fathom why it would matter one way or the other.
