Yes, Chris, I checked that out before posting my response above. It's most likely to be an April 1 ... not definitely of course, but most likely. Plus of course a great/lame/shady way for Globerunner to get publicity and links to their site. ;)

I refuse to click to their site, but the chances of MC going to work for a shady dallas SEO firm is slim to negative 5000.

Beyond the reputation of the company in question, the biggest clue it might be an April 1 "joke" is that April 1 is nearly upon us - so near that a simple "mis-scheduled" post could easily appear this weekend. Another huge clue is that Matt himself has said nothing about this, not in Twitter nor on his blog nor anywhere else - you'd think he might?

Certainly with their reputation it is unlikely to be true, (unless they have had an 'epiphany' and are making a major 'U turn')

Stranger things could happen :)

LOL! Matt debunked the story on Twitter. This is like the second April 1 joke that was launched early, undoubtedly both for links and clicks.

The globe runner and matt cutts headline is all over the forum sites right now, and honestly I'm not into this kind of foolishness most importantly reputable person is involved.

Well, it got y'all talking about the company... maybe not in the way they would have preferred, but you know the old Hollywood saying, "There's no such thing as bad publicity!" ;)

I dunno. When you traceably take advantage of the person who's got their finger resting on Google's nuclear button for your own benefit and not theirs, and especially when your own core business is SEO ... that's a bit thick, innit?

Mmmmm! I was wondering what kind of payback may just 'happen' to come around and hit them firmly and squarely in the gluteus maximus just when they least expect it.
