I have made a website for a construction company and linked to all their Social Media accounts:

Facebook

Twitter

LinkedIn

Pinterest

Youtube

Blogger

Google+

I wonder if it is a smart thing to do to link to the social media accounts when all accounts are barely used, ofcourse the best thing would be to get active on all those social media accounts but this is not going to happen. What to do; Remove all links to social media or keep them the way they are?

Hope to hear some of your thougts on the subject.

Regards,

Fieliep

If you don't tell people about them, ... How will they know they exist and are available for use by customers, prospective or existing

What sort of harm do you think these links will do?

And on the other hand, why bother if you don't use them?

I think the real question to answer is: why do they have these social media accounts if they don't use them?

If they have plans to use some/all of them at some point in the foreseeable future, then I'd say link to the ones they have plans for. If there are some they're just holding to keep anybody else from registering an account with their company name or if they just registered them all because it seemed like the thing to do, but they have no idea what to do with them, then there's no point in linking to them (at least not until they decide which, if any, they're going to actually use).

I would not link to unused social media accounts.  People would expect to see updates on those accounts, or to be able to ask questions or somehow interact with the business when need arises.
