Hello forum , iam new to forum , so i was not sure where to ask a question...

can you please suggest if users threads should have "index, follow" or "index, no follow" ?
or what is the best option ?

When thread posted , there is profile link in thread, as well as attached photographs .

Please tell me if iam right or  wrong .,

sitename.com/categorybane/ ( Index, follow)

sitename.com/categorybane/threads/threadname/ ( Index, no follow)  <:  i guess this would be better so google dont index duplicates links to usersprofiles . Or it dont matter ..

thank you, in advance

It all depends on whether you want search engines indexing your entire forum or not.

If you DON'T, set the meta robots directive at 'nofollow' but be aware that it WILL prevent search engines from discovering ALL the URLs on your site, because your site navigation is ALSO blocked from being 'followed'.
