I took a look at some of the many many sites that cruise planners have set up with independent consultants like yourself and they all look pretty much identical to me except of course that they have a different URL imposed over the Cruiseplanners logo.
What a search engine sees is lots of identical sites with the same layout, text and graphics. Search engines are not keen to index more than one of such a group of identical sites. Cruise planners have set up these affiliate sites so that they all link back to their site, but I am not sure if there are any links back from cruiseplanners to the affiliate sites as the only way I can find the affiliates is through a search.
Given the fact that yours is one of perhaps hundreds of identical sites (alltheweb lists 322 sites that link to the cruiseplanners site) how do you expect to be found in the search engines? In what way is your site different from the other affiliate sites? Why should your site rank better than theirs?
The problems are:
1. First it is likely that you will have difficulty getting search engines to index your site because it is a duplicate. Neither Google or Alltheweb currently list any pages of your site in their index. There is one page in the MSN search (presumably because of Bcentral) but the serp reads:
Cruise Planners: Luxury Cruises / Cruise Vacations / Discount Cruises
Discount Cruises. Excellent prices on all cruise vacations from luxury cruises to family cruises to wedding cruises and honeymoon cruises to exotic cruises to golf cruises and more!
IMO you should drop the cruise planners word from the title as I see no need to promote a site other than yours in your page title.
How long has the site been live?
2. You will experience difficulty getting a listing in DMOZ for your site since it is a duplicate affiliate site.
As I see the problem, the way the site is set up the only traffic you will only get will be referrals from cruiseplanners.com searchers who are looking for local agents, but a search in Cruiseplanners.com for your area recommends 27 cruise planners affiliates in Connecticut.
If you want to get indexed and ranked in the search engines in order to get traffic from the search engines for your site, you will, IMO, have to set up your own site with unique content which promotes YOUR site, not your principals.
What is differnet about your site? Do you want to promote your site only to Connecticut searchers? Why should searchers go to your site rather than direct to the cruiseplanners site; do you have better servies, offer one on one consulting about cruises, etc etc.
Answer some of these questions then put content into your site about what you offer as an affiliate of cruiseplanners, but you should be talking about what you do not what cruiseplanners.com does. Yes, mentionbriefly that you have the strength of this big company behind you but differentiate yourself. Your objective is to get the viewers to do thier cruise business through you.
Hope this helps.
