Hello Hello,

I do have an old domain name (11 years old) just with a few pages on it.
However, the few pages I do have are doing pretty good. Ranking well, I get some decent traffic and the most incredible thing...

I have a bunch of really nice natural links pointing to these pages.

Now, I would like to buy a new Domain and redirect it permanent.

Do I have to set a redirect for every single page ?
I mean .. from the old to the new one ?

Or is it possible to make one global domain redirect that automatically picks up the old URL ?
Will I lose all my links I've got naturally over 10 years ?
I really don't want to lose them.

Since I've never done something like this I am really lost.
Don't want to kill the traffic and want to make sure the sites will stay the same.

The only thing that should change is the name of the root Domain.

Thx for any little advice,
appreciate it !

Why??????

Not necessarily

Do I have to set a redirect for every single page

Yes, if the 'old' have direct equivalents.

Yep it's called a "wildcard redirect" and you only rewrite the hostname (exactly as  canonical redirects do)

Or is it possible to make one global domain redirect that automatically picks up the old URL ?

hmm.. yeah... the name of the domain is super long, I also do have a hyphen in it.. and it is hard to remember the name...  did not think about this 11 years ago.. and would love to build it over the next years to an authority site... that is my goal and reason... you think it is not worth it .. just changing the name ?

I still remember this domain name 11 years later:

welovetheiraqiinformationminister . com

Site is still live, too.
