Always a good feeling when you know your PC is not thinking 'Oh My God Not him again' when you walk into the room.

It's even worse when you have several computers and you can hear them whispering about you all day long. :fingerscrossed:

XP: He's hurting my video memory again. Why does he insist on always having 46 different windows open?

*nix1: Don't complain, he filled my drive up with 40 #&*%^@ gigs of backups last night.

98: Hey, at least he uses you guys. I'm getting lonely over here!

*nix2: I wonder if he's going to crash me again today playing with some stupid, untested upgrade?

XP: shhhhh... quiet... he's coming back!

Chorus: hummmmm.... hummmmm... hummmmm...

Laptop: It's beautful outside today guys! You all should get out of the office more!

Smug piece of hardware, take it outside in the rain, that'll teach it to be a laptop :fingerscrossed:

Nice one Randy, I loved it.

Congrats oneofthe3lions!

;)

I'm thinking it's time I bought an additional laptop as the family is getting tired of standing in line to use our current computers. ;)

Heh. Just be glad I stopped where I did. The language the other computers use when the laptop spouts off like that tends to get quite scurrilous.

Lappy really likes to rub in the fact that she and I spend at least a few mornings per week out by the pool reading the morning email during summertime. But if you asked her brothers and sisters, they'd say she's a real winch because she's constantly bragging about her travels.

I'm not sure what worries me more, the language those PC's are using or that you've nicked named your laptop 'lappy' :)

Nicknamed? No, no. That's her actual name Mike !

The rest of the family are: The triplets Uni, Lenny and Moe, the three Linux boxes; Greybeard, a 98 SE I keep around just because; Melinda, an ME; Homer, XP Home; and finally Big George, the XP Pro with dual 19" flat panel monitors and all of the other bells and whistles that I work on 99% of the time.

Issues? No, I don't have issues, Doctor. Why do you ask?

Is it just me, or is it getting cooler in the evenings...?

Yep - I have names for my computers too. Regretably, most of them are unprintable and usually form part of my 'percussive maintenance' routine!
