I am fairly new here. I keep seeing posts where people are saying their website is a PR5 or a PR3. How do I find out the PR on my website? Is there a place to test this on the web?

Thanks,
Diana

Hi Diana,

Go to http://toolbar.google.com and install the toolbar. It shows you the PageRank of pages.

You really don't need to know, however.

They are referring to Google's PageRank for any particular page. You can see your PR if you download and install the Google toolbar on your browser. I believe there is also a web site you can see this at without the toolbar but most people that are concerned over this have the toolbar installed.

If you have a mac and cant install the toolbar (therfore cannot see your pagerank in the toolbar) you can also view it free here.

Thanks everyone. I was hesitant to ask this question as everyone seemed to know about the PR thing but me. I wanted to know this because I have dropped off of Google into nowhere land. I was on the first page of google and now I have no idea where I am. I wanted to make sure that I didn't have a zero rating.

Thanks for your help.

LOL,

"Your current page rank is 0. Based on our calculations, we predict your page rank after the next google update will be 0"

Well, at least I have something to look forward to... :naughty:

sweepthelegnate,

I just tried the url in my sig. file. That PR prediction program says the PR will be 10 after next update. :naughty: .

I'm not sure the program is funny or silly.

I don't mind you posting a link if it's relevant, but what does "future PageRank" have to do with anything?

Not to mention that it's actually impossible to predict PageRank, and the question was regarding current PageRank, I believe. :)

haha, no telling if it is for real or not...I just saw it over at the seo roundtable.

I notice one of the phases people go through is some sort of pr obsession phase...I figured this would just help that obsession add another facet

My page is currently ranked at 2/10.

What determines someone's PR?

I'm sure you've all been asked this question a gazillion times but please humour the newbie here. :embarrassed:

Thanks.

Diana,

Try reading this summary of what PageRank is that I wrote awhile back after editing the PageRank Explained document.

Thanks Jill. It was a very interesting article and helped me understand things a bit better.
