Hello,

I installed SSL yesterday and have a question about redirects. I use joomla and there is an option there to force SLL on the entire site. In most tutorials it also says to implement this code in the .htaccess:

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTPS} off
RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}

However, this appears to redirect indexed http pages to my homepage at

https: //www.mysite.com rather than from

http:// www.indexedpage.com/page.php to

https:// www.indexedpage.com/page.php

Hope this makes sense.

I guess alternatively, we don't need to redirect the entire website and could redirect only those pages that collect personal data. Any assistance appreciated.

Thank you.

Or you could just use absolute links where the site needs to go into HTTPS:

What makes you say that? Have you tried it? Have you investigated what REQUEST_URI is designed to do?

Google has indexed this page:

http:// www.mywebsite.com/page.php

but after the redirect code, when the above is clicked it redirects to

https:// www.mywebsite.com

I need it to be redirected to

https://www.mywebsite.com/page.php

Tried various codes found on the net but none seem to work.

Think I have sorted this out. Thank you for your time.
