I am working for a client in Manhattan that offers say a babysitting service. They only wish to provide service in a very small area, basically an area of about 3 square miles. Is there any way to tweak a site to rank extremely well in a very narrow area.

TIA>

Andrew

Adwords is by far the simplest way, and it shouldn't cost much if you're targeting your ads that tightly.

For SEO, do all the usual things you would do for local SEO - especially target keywords that include street names and region/district  names (e.g. babysitting chelsea nyc)

Jill,

Wow thanks for the speedy and HELPFUL response, glad you are back. Alan thanks for the Chelsea tidbit, yeah will add "nyc" as I don't want to grab any work from your UK clients ;-)

If you haven't already, you should probably also set their service area at Google My Business: https://support.goog...r/3038163?hl=en

Excellent! I figured you probably had already taken care of it because you seem to be on top of these sorts of things, but I figured it would be good to mention for future readers of this thread who might not be aware of the option. :)
