I was reading lot's of different opinions regarding dofollow and nofollow links.
I experienced that many pages just do have nofollow links on their blog posts, etc.
However.. it almost seems to be a new sport to mark every link that links from your homepage to an external source as NO-Follow.
But there is something.. I don't know.. I simple can't wrap my head around this.
Let's say I do have a page that writes about cookies.
And then I do have on that page really very interesting content.
And I also do excellent outgoing links, to Government Sites and sites with a high Page Rank, Domain and Page Authority...
and let's further say, every single link getting out from my page to those sites.. is marked as No-Follow...
I mean... is this really smart ?
And if so, still not 100% clear to me why people are doing it ?
Well.. if all my outgoing links are marked as NO-Follow.. it seems to be also an indicator, that these links can not be very important, right ?
And if my outgoing links are marked as not important - how important or good is my content ?
I know .. at the end it's always a personal choice and it might be some philosophy as well to keep the link-juice within your own pages ....
But would be interesting to know what you think about.
Also.. I was wondering.. if my outgoing links are all No-Follow links.. couldn't that effect the ranking actually in a negative way ?
