Hi there - I am currently working for a small company operating more than one business under the same address and contact details.

Business #1 - Digital Strategy Agency

Business #2 - Online Wedding Magazine

I am currently in the process of creating a Google+ account for both businesses and my question is:

If I were to create a Google+ account for both businesses under the same address and contact number, will the second account (or both) be penalised under Google's local search?

Help appreciated! Many thanks ^_^

Their guidelines aren't quite crystal clear, but it looks like they'd be OK with two businesses that operate in different categories sharing a physical address, but I don't think sharing a phone number would work.

Website & Phone: Provide a phone number that connects to your individual business location as directly as possible, and provide one website that represents your individual business location.

  • Use a local phone number instead of a call center number whenever possible.
  • Do not provide phone numbers or URLs that redirect or “refer” users to landing pages or phone numbers other than those of the actual business.
