How To Interpret Disallow: /pages/page1.htm

I've been reading lots and lots this evening but can't seem it find an answer to my question :
in a robot.txt how do you interpret :

Disallow: /pages/page1.htm

interpretation 1 : you only disallow page1.htm
interpretation 2 : you disallow the whole directory "pages"

i would be very happy with your answer !

That would disallow the page1.htm only Caroline.

To disallow the whole directory you would need to drop off the specific page.

Jill knows you should never believe any post of mine under 2,000 words. That always means I was in a hurry, and mistakes are more frequent. :lol:
