I've been reading lots and lots this evening but can't seem it find an answer to my question :
in a robot.txt how do you interpret :
Disallow: /pages/page1.htm
interpretation 1 : you only disallow page1.htm
interpretation 2 : you disallow the whole directory "pages"
i would be very happy with your answer !

That would disallow the page1.htm only Caroline.
To disallow the whole directory you would need to drop off the specific page.
