Hi Guys, I have 2 good sites in the addiction field. One is Canadian and one U.S. One is a .ca (attributed to Canada) and the other one .org ( attributed to the US). Sometimes Canadian looks at doing a treatment in the US for different reason.

I was looking at creating a page on my Canadian site so visitors can reach help in the states but I was not sure of linking to the US site.

I never wanted to link these 2 sites but maybe I am over-reacting about it.

Any thoughts?

I'm not clear on why you wouldn't want to link the sites to each other. It makes perfect sense from the user's perspective that they might be interested in learning about their options in either country and the fact that this organization has locations in both Canada and the US is a signal that it's stable and established.

You are definitely over-reacting. You have a legitimate purpose for proving the links, so provide them.

Thanks guys, I think with the Panda and penguin updates we get a little paranoid :)

I will put it in the footer which I think it is the right place. Should I include it on every page or just the index page of each?

Well, site-wide footer links are probably NOT the best place for a link. It depends on the footer. Is it already jam-packed with links? If so, that's probably not a good idea.

When people reach the bottom of an article it IS a good idea to give them a SMALL NUMBER of links to choose from. They may be more inclined to click deeper into your site or network.

But if they see a huge footer loaded up with links -- that's not very compelling.

No mine has only 2 links "Site map" and "Home" ( +1 for the US site)

Should it be site-wide or just the home page?

I agree, but there may also be places where it makes sense to add the link in a spot where users are more likely to see it, like on a contact page or one listing locations. This would be in addition to the footer link.
