I think a portion of bloggers not being asked is for a good reason. Blogs are notoriously viral...things spread in minutes vice hours days or weeks... many companies do not ask bloggers to blog about their products because if they offend them they may end up getting a couple plates full of negative PR.

I think the key is to maybe help the people or find how you relate, ask a few questions to further qualify, then maybe ask for a blogger to blog about you.

Blogs can be used to spread information quickly...good or bad. you would much rather have it be good. Also with all the comment spam that is going on bloggers are not kind to those who they think are spamming them...just my 2 cents

I love prweb.com as it gives instant search engine rank and it allows a link of our site. One of our clients failed to renew their .com domain and registered an alternate domain and its a tough job to regain the lost popularity, PRweb is very useful in these tough cases.

What is meant by blogs?

Welcome Suthra !

A Blog simply some software on the server that allows a person to keep a weblog, or an online diary of sorts. Though they were originally designed for personal use, lots of commercial web sites are beginning to use blogs also. Quite effectively I might add.

I recently used PRWeb.com to send a press release to GoogleNews and YahooNews on the same day I launched the redesigned site. And I'm very happy to say that the home page of the new site was indexed the same day and now 2 days later it's ranking in the SERPs.

Keep in mind, I'm working on a site that's got a PR 0 (no link popularity), so the fast indexing is quite an achievement. Now, we'll see how long it takes Google to come back around. ;)

I also employ the use of press releases in our search engine marketing campaigns. It doesn't hurt that places like PRWeb have direct feeds, but I find the real value is the clients seeing you going the extra mile and generating value-added services that most other firms haven't incorporated yet.

Welcome to the forum, scoreboard - good point about the 'extra mile' service demonstrated by issuing a press release for a client.

Hope you find the forum useful.

I have a blogging community and naturally we all have blogs. The funny thing is that everyday we receive spam comments with links in it that don't make sense.

I still don't really get the whole blogging thing. I mean, how is someone going to find my blog unless I tell them exactly where it is? I'd love to figure out how to get some kind of viral news going about my projects and get them into the bloggosphere. I just don't really grasp how one can gain any influence in the game of blogging.

Michael, they find it the same way they find any site...the search engines!
