Goggle Analytic's; Code Snippet On Every Page?

Best Answer Jill , 23 September 2013 - 10:57 AM

Adding it just to the index page is never enough.

You have to find the header template to your site and add it there. If your site is a static HTML site where you have no template, you  need to add it to every page by hand.

I just added the Google Analytic's tracking code snippet to the index.html just before the </head>, just like it says to do.

It says it will take 24 hours for the Analytic's to have any information, and it also says this about putting the code snippet

on the other pages.

I quote them " (Most websites re-use one file for common content, so it's likely that you won't have to place the code snippet on every single page of your website.)"

So my question is how would I know if this site "re-uses" one file for "common content"??

How do i determine if i need to add the tracking code snippet to each and every page, or is having the code snippet

on the index.html good enough??

Cheers

Thanks Jill! I was wondering what they meant by that. I will add the tracking code snippet to every-page.

Cheers :)

Jill,

Do I have to "fetch as google" these pages after I add the code snippet to each one??

No. One thing has nothing to do with the other.
