At the top of the Adwords KWRT is this

In the coming months, the external Keyword Tool will no longer be available.

I seem to recall mentioning that maybe a nice shiny "paid" tool would be announced at some point after the "key words unavailable" made an appearence in Google Analytics.

Google being predictable in "puppy dogging" their "free" services??? Who had thought it!!

By the way;

For any one not familiar  with "puppy dogging", it's not a sexual perversion or form of depravity, it is a "real world" marketing ploy of giving customers a "free trial" of something genuinely useful, then trying to take it away at the end of the trial.

You can still use the free tool, you'll just have to log into an AdWords account to get to it.  Unless G plans on changing the way they do it, you can set up an AdWords account and not spend anything or advertise with it.

Have you played around with Keyword Planner any? I have just a bit.  Not a fan so far.

I spent like 15 minutes testing the Keyword Planner because it is going to replace Google Keyword Tool but i cannot seem to get used to it. Maybe because i was too familiar with Google Adwords.

I have been wondering that if Google Adwords is replaced then the Adwords Certification would be useless then?

Pardon me, i must have been a bit sleepy when making that post. I was talking about the Keyword Tool, of course, not Adwords.

Why would the certification for Adwords change then?

Because the Keyword Tool is a significant part of the knowledge one need to know before he can get the Adwords certificate. But now the Keyword Tool is going to be replaced by Keyword Planner, thus some people (who already own the Adwords certificate) might not keep track with the changes and master the Keyword Planner before the Keyword Tools is replaced? From what i am thinking that would make the Adwords certificate loses some of its credibility. Just thinking.

Yeah, but they ARE BOTH part of Adwords, you can do the Adwords research WITH EITHER of them.

It's not something new, it's the same tool that Adwords researchers have had available for a fair while.
