Hi Jill and everyone,

A strange thing is happening to me in Google Webmaster Tools.

A couple of months ago I did a "change of address" to one of my domains (PrintYourCanvas.com) and redirected it to another domain (PaintYourLife.com). Now, I would like to cancel this, so I go to PaintYourLife.com GWT account and click the 'withdraw request' button, and I get a message: "Invalid request withdrawal. There is no recorded change of address from http://www.printyourcanvas.com/ to http://www.paintyourlife.com/."

(see attached)

It seems that Google still thinks that PrintYourCanvas.com has moved to PaintYourLife.com because it doesn't rank it anywhere.

Also, if you search for PrintYourCanvas.com in Google, the 1st result will be PaintYourLife.com

I tried to post in Google forum as well, but haven't received any reply for the past few days :(

Please help...

Thanks!

When did you remove the redirect? It's going to take some time for Google to reindex is all.

One of my clients encountered this issue before and just like you i have been frantically looking for a solution. But as it turns out the problem disappear after about 10 days.

I guess it is as said by Jill, Google needs some time to re-index.

Hi guys, thanks for your comments on this issue!

The thing is, that I have removed the 301 redirect about 3 weeks ago, so I would expect Google to see this already, isn't it? Is there anything I can do to speed things up?

One other strange thing that I've noticed which may shed some light on the issue is that when I go to www.PrintYourCanvas.com GWT account, and I go to "Fetch as Google' and enter the homepage, it only gives me the option of "Submit URL only to index" and not the option of "...and all linked pages" which it usually does. Any idea why?

Thanks again!

Is there anything I can do to speed

More decent links pointing to the 'new' URIs (all or as many of them as possible, not just the 'home' page.

another week has passed by and nothing has happened...

you can see that if you search in Google for 'PrintYourCanvas.com' you will get PaintYourLife.com as the 1st result, which means Google still thinks that this domain is redirecting to it:

https://www.google.c....hp.l8wOgk7H6Dw

I'm pretty sure that this is because of the 'change of address' I did in GWT, but as I described above, Google doesn't let me change it! :(

It has been one month now since I cancelled this redirect... I don't think it's just a question of waiting more. How much more? Something doesn't seem to be right here...

Thanks for any help!

Hi again,

I've been waiting (like a good boy) for almost 1 month more, and still, nothing happens...

If you search for 'printyourcanvas.com' in Google:

https://www.google.c...998.3SUKbCdv9RQ

you can see that PaintYoourLife.com shows first, although it is few months now that printyourcanvas.com is not redirecting to it anymore, but Google doesn't let me undo the 'change of address' that I previously did.

Please HELP!
