I've build a shopify store, and now that i'm concentrating more on SEO, I've run into an issue that I don't understand how to best manage.
Many of my products are included in multiple categories. This means that there are essentially duplicate links to the products. For example:
These links all point to the same product. The first link is the master link for the product.
While I could use rel=canonical to prioritize the first link, i also worry about losing out on the keyword-rich 2nd and 3rd URLs.
1. Are my "duplicate" links really hurting my SEO efforts?
2. Should I employ the rel=canonical tag to specify my master links for each product (I can specify any of my category links as the master link if i desire)?
