Multiple Pages In Search Returns - Dup Issue?

I noticed when typing a targeted keyword phrase into bing or yahoo my home page comes up pos 3, and then the actual departmental page targeting the phrase comes up like position 5.


Would these results signal a duplicate content issue in Google?  I think I read in the past here no, but that was pre-panda which my site is still being penalized for...

Are both pages somewhat relevant to the query? If so, odds are it's perfectly normal. Your home page is probably coming up first because there are more links pointing to it.


And you don't need to worry about duplicate content if the pages aren't more or less the same as each other.
