I use PPC to guarantee visibility on "Trophy Phrase" searches.  Using exact match on the phrases provided by the client they are assured visibility.  Along comforting their anxiety. The added benefit of this is that, in general, it allows greater content flexibility to build in the keywords and phrases that are a actually being used by potential viewers when searching for our client services.  For very little little money our client has visibility on the search phrase they want, and the site has visibility on the phrases that truly matter, my client's potential clients.
