I am currently employed but looking around.  Someone responded to my resume by asking me to take a test. It included figuring out the performance metrics from looking at a spreadsheet with numbers removed. What really is the point of this? Google has all of your metrics. In what situation would you have to guess?

My guess is that it is to show that you understand the figures - and, importantly, the relationships between them. For example, if you can calculate the CTR from the number of clicks and impressions, that shows that you understand what those figures mean.

That's just a guess on my part, but it seems reasonable.
