Does anyone have any insight as to whether using a .info hurt long term hurt SEO or does it not matter at all?

I've read conflicting accounts about this.

Any advice is appreciated, Thanks.

If you create a good site, it doesn't matter if it's on a .info domain. You may have a harder time getting people to memorize it, but that's really the only issue.

A lot of junky sites were created on .info domains, simply because they were easy to get -- someone already had a .com, so someone else grabbed what they could get and put up a site. That doesn't mean that putting a site on .info makes it junky.

Totally immaterial

I registered the .info of my domain which is a .biz because squatters were hanging on .com.  7 years later it's still unowned. I used .info for demos.
