Hi,

Any suggestions for a domain name article site?

I want to publish all my articles about domains (175) onto one URL.

Why not have a play about with www.nameboy.com? Should give you a few ideas :bubbly:

Definately something that isn't spammy but what you use is really just a personal preference. Something like www.domain-info.com, www.website-articles.com, www.sitestuff.com, www.domainhelp.com, etc. would probably be best. If you look around a bit, you should be able to find a decent one...

I really don't know what exactly you are going to put up so I can't really send you a recommendation for any particular domain. Perhaps you should consider writing an article on choosing domain names, lol.

It might actually be worthwhile just keeping the articles as part of your main site.

Jill,

Thanks

I got turned down by adwords, but with 700 odd content rich articles I feel I am missing out on the income hence the new site.

Ah yes, well that makes sense.

I believe also that if you can get adsense approved for some other site of yours, you can then show them on whichever site you want. At least that was how it was when they first started.

That is still the case, however, you really do have to be careful about where you use Adsense since Google may cancel your Adsense account if you have breached the terms.

Oh, when I first posted, I didn't realize that you already had a site about web hosting and was just assuming that this was a new site you were starting...

I wasn't aware of that, I thought that you had to submit every site you want to put adsense on. Well, off I go to put adsense on all of my sites, lol.

My articles are split into categories;

Domains
Web hosting
Ecommerce
Web design

Should I go for one large site, or four seperate ones?

I personally feel that that the domain name should not be your main key word. It should ofcourse be relevent to your business, but it should not be too general. Keep in mind the importance of making your site a brand.

If I'm understanding the situation correctly, it really shouldn't be too hard to come up with a very good and memorable domain name. The site is going to be totally information and articles, with the exception of the Adsense ads, right?

If that's the case I certainly wouldn't hesitate about using a .org or even a .info type of domain. You're not going to be selling anything directly on the site afterall, and that's what those TLD's are designed for.

How about something nice and simple like WebAdvice.org (or .info both are currently available). You might even luck out with that one.

Neither WebAdvice.com nor WebAdvice.net are being used currently. One is set to expire in May 2005, the other in May of this year. So maybe you'll get lucky and the current owners of those will let them go back into the pool if they're not going to use them, or at least hopefully they're not holding them hostage hoping for a big payday from their domain squatting.

Something like that could definitely be made into a good brand me thinks. Even without the .com and .net in your stable of domain names.
