Jill,

 

I noticed that one of the people commenting on this article mentioned a client who advertised wine gift baskets had their ads suspended, on the grounds that AdWords bans ads for "hard liquor".

 

That reminds me of an acquaintance who recently had an AdSense account banned because it contained information about certain kinds of beer. On checking the policy, she found this:

 

 

 

Sites with Google ads may not include or link to:

...

...

Sales of beer or hard alcohol

...

I was amused to see that beer is a no-no, but wine seems to be OK.

 

I know this is not directly related to the above-mentioned comment (which was about AdWords rather than AdSense), but it does demonstrate the same lack of logic or understanding.
