Was just wondering about this as when we add a new blog post and share on linkedin we get comments there but not on the actual blog post.

Was thinking about asking the commenters if its ok to copy the comments onto the blog itself for extra content.

What do you think?

I wouldn't post them yourself to your blog. You can certainly ask them to go post on the blog, but it's likely most won't.

I have never seen linkedin comments in the SERPs.  I've always left comments alone wherever they were posted.  There is really no fair way to share comments across all services where you share content.  About the closest you might come is to use the Disqus commenting system but they prevent their in-service comments from being indexed.
