Interesting what the thoughts are on "content curation" or abstracting, summarizing content with your own input from other sites.

This is a fairly common strategy among many news sites, or even popular blogs, such as HuffingtonPost.com

Any thoughts?

I've employed content curation pretty extensively the last year and a half.

Really I'v found that there are two forms of curation. Long form where you pull from multiple sources and short form where you pull from one single source.

The main benefit I've found is search and authority building. The key for search is to put your curated content within a trusted domain. For authority it's all about finding great sources and adding insightful commentary.

I suggest anyone just getting into the content game start with curation as in a way it trains you to be a good content marketer.
