When does the Average working class American get paid?

Is it Bi-Monthly or Monthly/end of the month.

the reason I ask is ~I got a spike in sales on one of my sites in the begining-mid month, but it's dropped right off now, despite having steady traffic, currently averaging 300 visits per day.

I'm thinking it's a pay day thing?

So when do Working Class Americans typically get paid across the Pond?

I'm not sure, but I think most Americans are paid bi-weekly. The only salaried job I've had where I was paid weekly was one in which I managed hourly workers, and we were all paid weekly, and when I worked temp or part-time jobs, it was also weekly.

In fact, I'm currently working a short-term contract job for an hourly rate, and I'm paid weekly (or at least I'm supposed to be paid weekly -- there was some holdup on last week's check, which would have been my first). So maybe it comes down to hourly pay (weekly) vs. salary (bi-weekly).

bi-weekly?

That means twice per week?..at least in the UK, that is what that would mean.

Or did you mean twice per month?...in the UK that is known as bi-monthly.

Bi-weekly is every two weeks. Twice a month. Fortnightly.

I think twice a week would be called "semi-weekly" here -- every half week. Which doesn't exist, as far as I know, except for people who are paid daily, probably off the books, in cash, and only work twice a week :)

Ok cheers.

That would explain the drop.

Next week I would expect my sales to go up again.

If it is a 2 weekly thing and the site has been running long enough, you should see these peaks and troughs move within each month. Put another way, as there are about 4.345  weeks in the month so the peak would be expected to move along each month.

I don't follow what you mean?

This particular site has been ranking well for about a month, it's new.

I got a good amount of sales in the first and second week, since then it has dropped, although my rankings and traffic has been steady and I have changed nothing about the site or page....

"the peak would be expected to move along each month."

What does that mean?...

Well, a month is typically 31 days long.

A week is seven days long.

So Friday 14th and Friday 28th one month likely becomes:

Friday 11th and Friday 25th the next month.

Friday 8th and Friday 22nd the next month after that.

And so on ..............

2 Weeks apart is always going to slide along Month by Month at least according to my maths.

It means that if people buy from you shortly after they get paid, you're going to see a pattern form over time, with a week of good sales followed by a week of poor sales.
