I think it is still a case to case basis, experimentation is the best way to check and not hearing from what was said by one person to another.

We started running our PPC campaign just this January, and the very first advantage that we get so far is having our website in the very first page which means more exposure and more exposure means possible higher traffic.

Yes but that's not the topic of this thread. It's not helping your organic rankings.

Well they didin't actually qualify what they meant by 'very first page' , but I guess your assumption of 'Sponsored Links' is likey to be on the money ;)

So what's the bottom line of this? PPC and organic search rankings are far different from each other and that PPC can't help in organic rankings?

That pretty much sums it up, yes.

Being on the first page in the organic listings and in PPC can help in some cases with clickthrough rates. Sometimes people are more inclined to click on organic links when they also see the same site listed in PPC (and vice versa). There's an element of visual reinforcement and confirmation that the listing is legitimate (or at least that the entity has enough money to pay for PPC) that can make people more likely to click.

So PPC and organic listings can help each other attract more interest.

But PPC isn't going to do anything for organic rankings. (For that matter, nor will having good organic rankings get you better positioning for your PPC ads.)

PPC does not help you organically.  Once you turn off the ads, you stop benefiting from them. The one way it might help your organically is if you make improvements to your landing page to increase your quality score.  Those changes would probably help you organically as well.  Perhaps that is what happened with your employer?
