Ok so here's the deal.

 

If I post an article to my blog then post the same article on facebook, is that penalised?

 

It's two sided:

 

a) Google likes social media sharing/interraction

 

But

 

B) Google hates duplicate content (apparently)

 

It's a Rock and Hardplace scenario?

No it wouldn't be penalized, but why would you do that?

 

The idea is to link to back to the original article (on your site) via Facebook.
