I link to all of my pages in the same format - like this:

Some text <a href=" http:// my site . com/directory-name/"> some text </a>

All of my pages are index.html but not referred to in the link structure - i.e. I just do straight directory forward slash like the example above.

Am i doing a good job with this? Is there a "problem" that I am not linking to the file named "index.html" in the complete path?

No.

Where are you coming up with these questions? I would think you'd have more important thing to look at/fix with your site than dreaming up all these questions!

I just want to be 100% sure that I am doing the right thing b/c I am experienced really solid growth.

Everything I do is important and mostly my time is well spent. Ive made a ton online and lost a ton but its only now that the scales are tipping in a positive and consistent direction. My latest campaign couldn't be more white-hat if I tried and am getting some really amazing traffic and am getting on average 1-2 links from authoratative sites in my space - I just want to be sure that this time I do things correctly (in terms of link structure and management).

I guess the old saying applies to me - "There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions" but you can't hate on the traffic and links I'm getting

the ONLY time a URI might be a "problem" is if it resolves to the wrong document.
