a strange thing is happening when i insert a search term into google to where my website is ranked. at the beginning it was many pages down the list and now its on page 1 - near top with a note saying ' you have visted this site many times') am i right in thinking my constant bringing up of my index page is warping the results? if so - is there a better way to fine out?

It's only "warping" the results that YOU see, everybody else will be seeing something different in any case.

By the way, it's not particularly a "strange" thing Google have been doing that for logged in users for quite a few years now.
