What are the advantages of having blog on a website?

Absolutely none whatsoever.

A 'blog' is simply a content management system where the entries are displayed in chronological order. They have no special significance, no magical properties and ABSOLUTELY no magic effect where search engines are concerned.

AND of course a 'blog' is also a 'website'!

It is important to note that blogging becomes a new page on your website but the owner of the website can author it instead of web designers. There are several different benefits of having a blog on website. First of all, having a blog keeps your site fresh as it attracts new visitors while enhancing your online credibility. This makes blogging a powerful tool to attract new visitors or customers for an e-commerce website. Secondly, giving advices through blogs on the website enhances your image, profile and position in your industry. As a result, a competitive advantage is gained and it is more likely that you will get best stream of potential customers and clients.

 

            Also, blogging can be used to soft sell your clients. For example, a free piece of advice can be given to customers without offering them something to sell through blogs. As a result, people will be grateful because everybody loves something for nothing. In this way, your business image will be enhanced and customers will not realize that they are being marketing or advertised through blogs. In this way, blogs become a kind of stealth advertising that is more effective than mass media advertisements or non-personal marketing communication messages.

 

            Blogging encourages the visitors to leave their comments on the blog. As a result, an interactive communication is generated. This reduces the difference and gap between organization and potential customers.
