Karon's been noticing for quite some time that the top sites in Google didn't always have the exact keyphrase used multiple times within their copy. So she went to Matt Cutts from Google to confirm her suspicions--that we no longer need to use keyword phrases as a whole, but should use the individual words contained within the phrases.

So essentially, it's almost like Google just finally decided to back you up on the "write well, write naturally" approach.

Well really they always have done, it's just that as they move closer and closer to their ultimate goal of "natural language processing" (and no, that's not the same as "Latent Semantic Indexing/Analysis"), It becomes more obvious.
Well that is assuming you choose to see it rather than sticking blindly with the "experts" and their "words of wisdom" from the last century.

Does this mean more and more people will have to surround their search in quotes to get an exact match because G! will be using
synonyms that perhaps are unwanted.
If I wanted to search for those words, I would have typed them in my search!
There is nothing worse than a computer trying to second guess what I want, just like inteli-search as you type - agghh!

Could be. I've been using quotes for quite some time for best results.
