Check out the new updated search. Yahoo's new result are more relevant and IMO google need to start sweating on it.

Is this really news? Are they rolling out an update *right now?* If not, they released their new index a couple weeks ago. And yeah. Google needs to take note, Yahoo! now covers 50-55% of the search market (with Yahoo/Ink).

Is the number of data centres known? I mean, are people running searches on different ones and comparing them like they do with Google?

Looks like they are lowering importance on Yahoo! directory listings? I wonder why? Is this new the way they are referring to listings with the red arrow?

Any one else see this? or is it just on the couple of searches I tried out.

Are these results exclusive to Canada though, as the 'powered by Yahoo! search' notice is not at the foot of the page as it is in all other sites.

OWG - Just done a check on Yahoo UK (both UK and worldwide) and I'm seeing more directory listings than I saw the other day. see here for my observation I made.

They are not all clustered in top 10 - so maybe it doesn't see it as relevant as Google sees the Google Directory / ODP as being.

I am getting a couple of nice rankings for some of my sites, including number one spots.

My site has come up several notches - from second-page to top-of-first in SER, for a couple of key phrases.

INK optimisation (plus having a directory listing) rules! :drunk:

Major boosts on some killer phrases.

Several hundred new non-PFI pages in and ranking well.

For now, I love it!

I moved up too : -) Hoping to see lots more traffic now :-)
Yahoo searchbar (toolbar) however is still displaying old results. Yahoo.com is giving new results.
