Keyword Phrase Question

greatest XYZ
It gets 3600 exact match searches a month. The problem per se is about content. It's more difficult to right content compared to;
the greatest XYZ
By having the word the writing content I guess would seem more natural.
the greatest XYZ only gets 480 exact match searches.
When I researched page 1 search results come up different search results between the 2 phrases.
I'm not saying content would be impossible with greatest XYZ but thinking to myself more challenging.
Anyone ever in this situation? And how do you or have you handled it?

Using "the whatever whatever" is the same as targeting "whatever whatever."
Hi Jill maybe I'm missing something. When I ran "whatever whatever" through the Google Keyword Tool it suggested "the whatever whatever" with different search volumes and there are different search results between "whatever whatever" and "the whatever whatever". Am I missing something?

But by using the longer phrase anywhere on your site, you're also using the shorter phrase, right?
