Hello All,
I'm doing a proposal for some SEO for a client who has a .org.uk domain name.
We're wanting to target german keywords to show in google.de.
Is it a problem getting ranking for anything other than .de in google.de?
Looking at some of the keywords that they want to be found under (that return decent traffic) they are predominantly .de domain names.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.

if you want to rank for German keywords then purchase the same domain name and get the .de you also will want to host the website over in Germany these are both ranking signals also, you will need to get links from German sites, this will show authority in the local country.

The .de domain name can be done easily - that's no problem. No problem getting links from German sites either.
Having the one individual site hosted in Germany may prove too costly for the client, do you think this would be too much of a barrier?

You don't need to have it hosted in Germany. But do target Germany in your google webmaster tools account.
