Hi I need to take a page offline for a few days - I have to use .htaccess - should I do 301?
I don't get tooo much traffic so i don't mind about SEO so much for this site - but still - is it better just to use good old 301?
I read that 302 is a bit dangerous and prone to break??

Just let it return a 404 for a few days as that is the correct HTTP response for a missing page.

Oh and NO, pages that return a missing response do NOT get removed from the search engine's index.
