I have a client who's website is ranking under the NO www and there Google Webmaster Setup is without the www, unfortunately I didn't realize this until AFTER I did a TON of linking WITH www. website.com and only when I set up another site profile did I see those links.
The canonical thing has always confused me, was all that link building for naught? I know there is a canonical meta tag that does SOMETHING but I am not sure what.
Thanks for your help
