There are a number of sites that provide info such as "top 10 search engines" in a given year. Just out of curiosity I wanted to ask the folks here which are the top 3-5 search engines at this point in time in your opinion? Obviously you can skip Google <g> I'll just automatically put that at the top of the list wink1.gif

Thanks,
Deb

I think it depends on whether your market is in English, Russian, or Chinese. Of course, there are other language markets but the three largest, most powerful search engines (in my opinion) are Google, Yandex, and Baidu (not necessarily in that order).

In the American SEO market I feel people should be monitoring at least Google and Bing/Yahoo! but it would also be a good idea to keep an eye on up-and-coming search engines like Blekko and DuckDuckGo. There are maybe 100 search engines trying to send traffic to the Web at any given time.

This would be English/USA. Right now I'm going with Google, Yahoo, Bing and Ask. Those seem to be the top 4 on the sites I've looked at for info. I know this will prolly change over time - it's a curiosity thing on my part only.

There aren't 3-5. There is Google and Bing. (Yahoo uses Bing as well.)
