Ok, i think i know the answer to this but would like further clarification on best practice if possible please guys smile.gif.

at the minute our website has a 301 redirect in place, from /index.php to the absolute url. (Great!)

However i have recently noticed if you put any variation of words after the / and it them with .php our website currently just displays a version of the homepage

Surely this will look like duplicate content?! Should this instead be returning a 404 or redirecting back to the absolute url via a 301?
